Its a cool project. How does one go about getting started?

It's pretty simple. Not sure if this is the company we ordered from, but it's the same general thing
http://www.planetnatural.com …ing-mantis-egg-cases.html (external link)

We ordered in March and kept the egg cases in the fridge until April. Then we simply found a good branch and tied it to the branch. 4~6 weeks later after we began doubting that they would ever hatch our tree was covered with manti. I have a picture of the egg case tied to the tree I can post once I get home. From there, the mantids do the rest.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Good thought. :D

As I don't really know any models would I fit the bill in a sensible speedo? I have the boobs for it.

Bad thought. :(

Do they eat Japanese Beetles? Those suckers are eating the blooms on my coreopsis, a bloom a day. Everything I read for insecticide kills honey bees too, so I don't want to go that route. Cheat 'n Fleet has some traps, wonder if they work.

It is one of the dazzlers.:D;)

Nope, they don't. Well they do but don't. They use an attractant to lure beetles to the trap but not all the bugs go in. The result is higher numbers of Jap beetles in your yard. The traps will fill up, you will feel good about killing all those beetles, but in the end you will have more in the garden than if you did not put the trap up. Now getting a bunch and giving them to the neighbors two houses down may not be a bad idea.

;):D

I think I'm missing a good story. Can I get a summary or what page I should go read? lol

Tiff, that's a really great Avatar! You look beautiful!! Really!!!

Crissa has a dumbass employee that used a phony excuse to get out of work and never bothered to forge a note to bring to her.

And, thank you. Glad that there's someone out there who doesn't think that I just look pissed off.

Afternoon folks. It's been a long day with the boys. I'm skipping a nap so that I have some quiet time to myself.

I scored a cool prop at goodwill today though. :D

Cool, if they are a native species. I have seen a few in past couple years but don't remember them when I was younger. I don't like the idea of introducing a species not native with no natural predators and end up with an experiment gone bad like with the Oriental Beetles, fake Lady Bugs. I'll do some research before next winter.

That makes sense. Guess I'll enjoy my blooms first thing in the morning before they get eaten down to lace by evening.

Planning to become crafty today. Going to a store to buy some Neoprene for some bags for some of the RRS kit. Don't want it banging about in the bag getting scratched and dented.

We have a nest with 4 robins in a pine tree at my work. The over protective whack job mother let me take a look at the eggs. Hopefully next week I'll be able to score a couple shots of the youngsters.

afternoon all.

Crissa - looks like someone may be out of a job on Monday. Good luck.

Chet - please DO NOT post photos of the bikini model

Lisa - congrats on finally being companyless. Hope you and Cat have fun shooting the wedding.

Terri - travel safe.

I am back early from Santa Ana today. They have had a breakout of an intestional parasite, so not volunteers/interns inside the Zoo exhibits. There were 5 people assigned to the farm, so I volunteered to take off early, so there would be work for the interns.

That will be cool. I got out for some bird photography a few weeks ago. Not something I do all the time but do enjoy.
