Had the chance to spend the day in the sun at Wrigley yesterday. Best of all, the Cubs won on a walk-off walk 2-1 in 10 innings...

Derrek Lee gets plunked by Jeff Suppan in retaliation for Carlos Zambrano hitting Prince Fielder in the previous inning. This caused the umps to issue a bench warning.

E-6: Ryan Theriot boots a routine ground ball for an error:

Theriot, again, this time NOT keeping his eyes on the ball:

Carlos Zambrano was dealing yesterday - intense concentration:

Here are two subsequent frames of the play of the game. With runners on first and second with 2 outs in the top of the 7th, and the game tied 1-1, Prince Fielder singled to center off Zambrano. Cubs CF Kosuke Fukudome came up throwing, and one hopped the ball to Cubs catcher Koyie Hill who put the tag on Brewers pitcher Jeff Suppan. I like the eyes in the first frame, but the action in the second one. What do you guys think?

The red hats were a little much - especially with the Cubs wearing their home blue jerseys. They wear these almost all home games when Zambrano pitches. The hats also tend to ruin the value of the shots as stock images. I mean, the NORMAL Cubs hats are already red, white and blue.

Times like this, I also find myself wishing I had a 300 instead of my 400, slapped on the front end of my MkIIn (or I wish Canon would finally offer a lens like the excellent Nikon 200-400).

Thanks for looking.

Both of the pictures are great (your work always is), but the eyes of the first of the two just draw me in and force me to wonder about all of the details of the intensity of the emotion. Those eyes are powerful.

Speaking as someone who owns and loves the 300 dearly, the 400 has an image quality magic all its own that makes it king of the field sport hill. There are times I wish for the 400 rather than the 300. There is just no denying the quality of the 400 when it is the appropriate length and is used by top notch talent.

All the images are a pleasure to view.

Great shots of Hill! Maybe you should try this out at a White Sox game. . .
