Cropped version of the above photo. I think it looks better. A rainbow filter used.

Nice shots, I like the first one with the rainbow filter, very original.

Good, I was hoping someone would start a 4th of July thread. here's one of my fireworks shots from last night. I posted a couple of others in the 85mm L archive thread.

Hmm ya it really shouldn't be allowed for people to post their work in others threads. On another site im on thats called thread stealing or something like that.

Nope its called thread hijacking. =P

"Do not post your art in other people's art topics.
This is called "thread hijacking," and it is rude to the thread creator and detracts from the purpose of the thread. If you want to show your art off, please make your own topic for it."

Yep I totally agree with that rule.

Here's my attempt(s) at it... I was really in the wrong spot for most of them, but... oh well.

Hi. Please don't post photos in someone elses thread without being asked. This is called thread-jacking.

Feel free to start your own thread.

Sorry about that. I didn't see a C&C in the thread title so I thought you were just introducing a subject like a thread we had a while back where many of us posted our shots of the extra full moon.

Now, I see a multitude of fireworks threads from last night have posted--kind of inefficient, I think. I'd hope someone would start a "show us your fireworks shot" thread, but I was too lazy, I guess.

If you are looking for C&C, however, I was also impressed by shot # 3 with the rainbow filter. There is no way to know, without showing or telling that you were photographing fireworks what it is, but it is very impressionistic-modern art-like.

Canons to the left, Canons to the right,
We hold our L glass toward the light,
Digitizing in a snap reflective glory
That will forever tell our imaged story.

Bleh. So everyone on other web sites hate these photos (especially the rainbow ones). That has caused me to go into a angry im better than you attitude. Grrr. All they are basically saying is that they hate the subject (the rainbows). Technically though there is nothing wrong with these photos. I hate when peoples personal preferences get int the way of their critiques but it happens. I really try not to let it happen when looking at someone elces work and try to see at least one thing that is good about it then give advice on what they could change. bleh.
