First time trying this. Wanted to throw in some twists to get something original. Did I succeed?

I would love to know how you created this. i have always thought water droplet images are beautiful and i have had many many failed attempts. incuding using a wine glass of water, and ice cube and a remote shutter release. please help :)

An artist is not merely the slavish announcer of a series of facts. Which in this case the camera has had to accept and mechanically record.

Used my 60mm Macro lens. 580 EXII strobe with green tint directed at a silver reflector facing down at the water. Used mirror lockup and timed the drops. Probably took over 200 shots, so timing is everything. Also had aluminum foil at the bottom of the water to create a unique look. I found the hardest thing is focusing. Used a ruler and placed it where the drops were entering the water.

Hi Rebecca,
I, like you, like the water drop shots. I just posted a couple but encourage you to watch a tutorial by Gavin Hoey on the topic. Google his name or his training videos at gavtrain.com. I used his techniques. Good luck.
