why is it every time I go out to take photos of landscape or fields . Some how 1 or 2 horse flies all ways seem to find me and will not leave me alone.:mad::mad::mad: Really hard trying to compose a good photo and having a horse fly dive bombing me. lol. And to make it worse they follow me. Is there any spray out there that I can spray on me to keep them away.

Thanks jay

I hear you..they're everywhere this time of year

As for spray, no idea, I find the little electrical rackets work quite nicely

Horseflies ignore bug sprays. It's sad. Best to wear long sleeves and long pants and a hat. Maybe some mosquito netting. I don't know anything that works other than that.

Didn't you know that horse flies are attracted to the smell of Ding-Dongs?

OK, I'll bite (bad pun) what is it?

I was going to suggest a blast with hair spray to encase them for micro photography subjects.

I recently saw an ad for some bug repellent from OFF (external link) who has this little device with a fan that disperses the repellent. Not sure if it works on horseflies (per the comment above) but I thought it was a neat little gadget. Might be useful for model shoots to keep them off the model without having to apply repellent to their skin which could interfere with makeup etc.

I "think" it is a Star Wars light saber.

Everyone needs a light saber! I'd be lost without mine!

And do people really do that? Spray bugs with hairspray o take pics of them?
