Hi,

I took these pics today, while I was looking for baby falcons and came by this hawk. I was thinking from far away that it was the red tail hawks that live here. But this one had no red on it at all. Its tail is mostly white underneath with some black stripes. Here are a couple of pics of him to see if anyone can tell me what kind it is. Thanks Oh and this is in Southern California on the coastal area if that helps at all.

I agree with Steve. (no surprise there) It's a juvie Red-tailed Hawk.
