I only have Lightroom 2 but I was wondering if anyone had tried both and if they are similar? If you have which is better? I'm sorry if this seems dumb, I just don't know anything about aperture. =/. thanks!

Aperture is Mac only.
I've briefly tried it, but prefer LR, if only because it's a bit easier on my dual G5. Aperture needs a beefier Mac to run smooth.

Why not download the trial?

Aperture uses OpenGL to leverage the gpu for processing. Lightroom does not. What this means is that you need a Mac with an OpenGL-compliant gpu to use it with the most efficiency. Other than that, it's largely a personal preference (I prefer Aperture).

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

Guys, i'm wondering the same thing. I just bought the latest and greatest imac (right below the mac-pro) and was considering aperature. Or should I just stick w/ lightroom 2? i tried lightroom 2 for a bit and it just seemed similar to DPP. I need to get a manual on the program so i can see what it can really do.

I actually like DPP because its so simple granted its capabilites are limited.

You should DL the trials and see which suits you. You should also watch the video tutorials of Aperture on the Aperture web page at Apple.

Elements is a bit editing program. LR and Aperture are raw editing programs. If you're considering Elements, you should also consider Pixelmator.

I already have Lightroom and I love it. I was just wondering if anyone could comment on the difference. Thanks though everyone!
