Delta 4 Rocket Launch, Cape Canaveral, Fl.

Lens was the 70-200 L - I think I needed a longer lens! This was very cropped so the IQ is not that great. The launch was in June 2009. Payload was a Satellite.

Yep, I think you are right it was LCROSS. My wife's cousin works in the VAB at the Cape Canaveral. He does the electrical wiring on the Shuttle.
It was the Atlas 4 rocket not the Delta, I stand corrected.
First time I have ever seen a launch, pretty cool. Feels like an earthquake when the sound gets to you!
