Although we have done this every year for the last 9 years this is the first year I am bringing my gear with me. The wife gave the OK for at least 2 full days of driving and walking to shoot. I know a few choice targets already and have a few lighthouses on my list. Any other sweet spots that I should know about? I am also looking to possibly rent a 300 f/2.8 :) Are there any places in/around the Cape that do this?

Thanks for any help !

Bobby

I doubt you will find locally. Rent from these guys. You pay a little more, but you can reserved the date range you want.

Kevin,

Thanks for the heads up! Just got the email that the 300 2.8 will be here in the AM. Now giving it back will be the hard part LOL.

Cape Cod is a great place for photography I strongly recommend getting this book

Just came back from a trip and got some beautiful shots at Paines Creek in Brewster. I bought the book pixelmama recommended, but didn't get it in time to read on the trip - looks like a good find though!

I love Nauset Lighthouse, but it's kind of hard to get close to.

sounds like you already have the 300 rented, but if not, calumet in boston rents which is close enough to CC depending on where you're from....

Also, regardless of the wife allowing shooting, get your butt up at the crack of dawn and shoot sunrises! The sun's up around 4:30am these days (at least that's civil twilight) so you'll be able to go shoot for 2~3 hours before she even gets up! ;)
