Nice kids and photos, the first looks slightly out of focus, the cookie she is holding is sharp?

The 2nd picture of your son his face and eyes are out of focus. His elbow(arm) on his shirt if focused including the front of his toy truck.

Did you use just the center focus points or auto focus points?
