We had a visitor to our area the last couple of days. Came to town one day, stayed for a day and left yesterday. Wished I could have went for a ride. They were makind deals, but I did not have the time.

Awesome pictures! The locomotive is former Southern Pacific 4449. It's currently on a cross-country tour. It's in Fargo ND tonight, and is expected into Minneapolis tomorrow.

Thanks for the comments. As I work on the RR am not a great train chaser, but had a lot of fun with this one. Have a couple of other shots I like. Will post up when I get a chance. Loved that whistle. Was out in the wheat field miles from anyone waiting and listening. You could hear it for miles.

Man, this, with several other locomotives of historic significance are going to be within 30 miles of me. I just dont know if I want to wrestle around Owosso Mi with the foamers

#2 is my favorite too. I was crossing the Willamette River and saw this train as it was getting ready to leave Union Station in Portland, but I didn't have time to stop for a photograph. It's a beauty.
