I haven't posted in quite some time, but I found this photo that I wanted to share. The sunset looked good, so I grabbed my pocket camera (Canon A540) and went out on the dock. The scene needed something, so I threw a fishing sinker in the water to make the rings in the foreground. I wish there was beautiful mountain scenery in the background, but you just have to work with what you have.

Thats a really good shot from a pocket camera.. And i love the ripples in the water that you created. Does give it something else to the shot.. The sky for me is a little blown out, but on the other hand its also a very powerful and tranquil shot..

great capture :D

Thanks for the comment. I agree on the sky, but I don't do much PP. When I darkened the sky I lost too much color in the water. Being an old timer, I started shooting in the '60's when you shot chrome. What you shot was what you got, and that has stayed with me. I don't like sitting at a computer trying to make a photograph.

why did the foreground "need something?" couldnt you have just cropped this as a pano? why does this much water need to be there?

its a nice shot. i just think it looks better without so much "dead" water. my .02....not that you asked.

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.

I love the water personally, and the ripples made the shot for me, I saw them and was like wow what great timing, then I read you post.

Very nice shot. I like how that swirl in the water changes the whole sunset reflection.
