I try to shoot a bit of everything, but I am a car nut and end up shooting lots of Automotive stuff. Here is a bit of my work from the past year or so.

C&C is welcome. I only ask that if you have something to critique, please offer up a suggestion to fix it.

Thanks

Some very good work there, you'll fit in just fine here!! :D

Please be aware that the max image size here is 1024px on the longest side. That's why your last three shots have been changed to links.

Close.

3 is a 2nd gen Camaro. 1971 to be exact.

Sorry about the photo size. I'll be cautious of that in the future.

Nice shots. Love your choices on the backgrounds. Partial to the 50th anniv Corvette! (I have a 2000 vert.)

Thanks.

There are alot of people out there that tell me I need to simplify the backgrounds, but I LOVE putting cars in an urban style setting. I think the industrial look goes well with the automobile.

I think the most simple backgrounds I will use are brick walls, but even then I still insist on useing brick walls with character.

Another example of the thoughts behind my backgrounds....

I posted number 4 on some other sites for C&C last fall and everyone questioned the background. If you look at it, I placed a modern micro car next to some big old dead automotive technology.

The backgrounds work really well for me. You've chosen some nice locations there.

I think they're all very nice shots but the black & white Camaro really rocks!

Thanks.

I shot that last fall and it was the first photo where I really got into processing and fixing things. Before that photo I was never really going past minor adjustments because I didn't know what I was doing with Photoshop.

Just to give you an idea what that Camaro photo went through, here it is with just brightness, contrast, and clarity adjustments.

Normally I would have stopped there, but I actually tried real processing for the first time and ended up with what you see in the OP.

side by side.

It's your choice, but I think that busy backgrounds take attention away from the car if the car is your primary subject. This is why they're called "backgrounds"? ;)
Some of your other choices, like the Mini, have had the defining highlights that should be in the body killed by the background.
