A couple of weeks ago (June 25) my hubby surprised me by buying me a new lens (sigma 150-500mm). Here are a couple of photos I took of some birds in my backyard. If anyone could direct me to some tips on post processing of birds and how to get the most out of this lens I would really appreicate it. These shot are all handheld. Hope you enjoy the photos!!

Well done, Kimmy, and congrats on the new lens. It's always great when something works out as well as you hope and this obviously did.

The lens looks to be a keeper -- very nice. I really like the colours of the male house finch. I think it is just a tad oversharpened though -- just my opinion.

Beautiful series Kimmy, you have one heck of a sharp lens there.
Now you must bring us a Duck to rightfully initialize your new lens.

Shots like that make me wonder if I paid too much for "Canon".

Thank you! I don't think you paid to much for the canon. I've seen alot of incredible photos on here with the canon lens. I had a hard time deciding between the canon and sigma. For me it came down to the reach.
