UK : Greater Spotted Woodpecker

A really crummy shot, but I saw this bird at my peanut feeder yesterday and managed a very hurried snap today. This bird is extremely timid, and I hope he sticks around.

Pete,

seems all the woodpeckers are a bit skittish. Sometimes that's the best you CAN do! Keep the peanut feeder loaded ... he'll be back!

Green Woodpeckers are particularly bold. This one let me get within about 30 feet before he decided to move off. I've driven past one before and it just sat there by the side of the road...

Pete, just keep the greater spotted shots coming, you know it's going to get a lot better. Love the Magpie and Green Woody shots.

I love the green woody.
