Both Canon and Nikon seem to typically average 3-4 lenses per year, and 1-2 professional bodies. And why would they switch to 61 pt AF? Is 51 pt not enough? I think they would more likely increase the number of cross-type points and improve the focus speed and accuracy, similar to how the Canon 45 pt system has evolved over the past 12 years.
