Without aggressive tone curve adjustments, the shots look like crap...all muddy looking. I think I have all the pieces to the puzzle. The last piece is profiling your light box!!! That was it. Once I had my light tube profiled as a Picture Style (which has been cut down in half in order to produce more uniform lighting), everything gets easier with the highlights and shadows and color casts. After Vuescan inverts the negative, the shot was pretty much 90% processed. The rest was just tweaking the tone curves to open up the mid tone and bringing out the highlights. Canon 9000f...I was struggling trying to bring out the highlights and not blowing out details on the building. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/pZ79Pr One Imaging Photography

And the entire 5600 pixel here. You can even spot a hawk flying in between the buildings at 100% crop. https://www.flickr.com …cing/15605895988/sizes/o/ One Imaging Photography

These vintage cameras are usually not in the best of shape unless it has been CLA. I had a blast reconditioning mine.... enhanced viewfinder using the Mamiya c330 focusing screen. Perfect clarity. I spray painted (flat black paint) the viewfinder and film chambers since my Mat tends to reflect too much light inside the film chamber. I suspect the 124g should have a more improved way to flock the film chamber. I also cleaned and lubed both the focusing and crank side mechanism. Last week I just cleaned the shutter timing with some lighter fluid. Of course, refoamed the back door light seal too. One Imaging Photography

Besides a small amount of dust and a small paint scuff, it's pretty much perfect, although obviously I haven't developed anything from it yet, so hopefully the negatives will match the aesthetic condition. I'm down in Florida at the moment, and will be leaving for Ontario tomorrow. I'm going to stop at the Outer Banks in NC on the way home, so I'll be able to do some more in-depth testing with the camera during landscape shoots there. The inside looks fairly well flocked to begin with (better than the original Yashica Mat that I borrowed), so hopefully I won't need to do any work on that. Leica M3 | Leica M4-P
