These were shot few years back but didn't make it to my Flickr collection...because they were shot with Tmax 400 and developed in Rodinal under a very, very cloudy sky. Without aggressive tone curve adjustments, the shots look like crap...all muddy looking.

DSLR scanned...

I think I have to sell my scanner now....hahahah.... I think I have all the pieces to the puzzle. The last piece is profiling your light box!!! That was it. Once I had my light tube profiled as a Picture Style (which has been cut down in half in order to produce more uniform lighting), everything gets easier with the highlights and shadows and color casts. After Vuescan inverts the negative, the shot was pretty much 90% processed. The rest was just tweaking the tone curves to open up the mid tone and bringing out the highlights.

Another difficult shot to DSLR scan because the light is coming from the right and shinning at the boat house building, which is marble white.

DSLR scan. It seems that I could get more details off the building while retaining the highlight in the sky.

Canon 9000f...I was struggling trying to bring out the highlights and not blowing out details on the building.

And the entire 5600 pixel here. You can even spot a hawk flying in between the buildings at 100% crop.

Nice...how's the condition? These vintage cameras are usually not in the best of shape unless it has been CLA. I had a blast reconditioning mine.... enhanced viewfinder using the Mamiya c330 focusing screen. Perfect clarity. I spray painted (flat black paint) the viewfinder and film chambers since my Mat tends to reflect too much light inside the film chamber. I suspect the 124g should have a more improved way to flock the film chamber. I also cleaned and lubed both the focusing and crank side mechanism. Last week I just cleaned the shutter timing with some lighter fluid. Of course, refoamed the back door light seal too.

Thought I would practice my DSLR scan workflow since I am stuck at home with a crappy NYC weather...

Shot them last year when I had my Mamiya c330. Tmax 100 and 400. HC110.

Congrats. My dad had one.

Thanks! I loaded it with some Delta 100 and went out shooting earlier today, and I'm quite happy so far!

The condition is close to like-new. Besides a small amount of dust and a small paint scuff, it's pretty much perfect, although obviously I haven't developed anything from it yet, so hopefully the negatives will match the aesthetic condition. I'm down in Florida at the moment, and will be leaving for Ontario tomorrow. I'm going to stop at the Outer Banks in NC on the way home, so I'll be able to do some more in-depth testing with the camera during landscape shoots there. The inside looks fairly well flocked to begin with (better than the original Yashica Mat that I borrowed), so hopefully I won't need to do any work on that.

Good choice!

So was mine first MF to me. Sharp and contrasty.
Sold it because it was giving extreme distortions at the corners.
But as long as I was keeping it at the distance and in the middle it was perfect.
And boring.
