I quite understand. What chemicals do you use? So far, I've only used the Cinestill monobath & I understand that it's not the perfect solution just the easiest. I have the Cinestill C-41 kit but haven't worked up the nerve to try color yet LOL. I'm comfortable with the monobath now, looking into more traditional development.

I think you need a smaller hole, try it on your DSLR first.

You are right, curling is an issue. Was thinking of trying some type of backing paper across the back to hold the film flat. This one looks a little better, hard to tell because the train was moving & the shutter is approx. 1/40. The fact I can't stretch the film tight to scan it isn't helping matters any.

A paper from a 120 film and the 35mm cut to length and taped on the beginning of the paper backing, you can do it into a backpack in a dark room.

This is an ongoing experiment. The very first thing I learned was I need to make a 10-12 inch 35mm sized leader out of paper. The amount of film wasted while pulling over the camera & spooling onto the take up reel is probably 3 additional images. Also, I "calculated" 3 complete revolutions of the knob to advance to the next frame, but I decided to go 3 1/2 turns just to cover myself. 3 complete revolutions was plenty, may be able to get away with 2 1/2 turns. Should be enough for 2 or 3 more images. I ended up with 6 photos, should be able to get 10, maybe 12, on a 36 exposure roll.

The first roll I developed was with the Ilford single use kit. Way too expensive for everyday use. Since then I've only used Caffenol, with Ilford Rapid Fix. I like the Caffenol, but have had some mixed results with it.

I've used Cinestill DF96 Developer and Fix Monobath for Black and White Film and had good luck with it. It's so nice to only have to deal with one chemical for both developing and fixing the negatives. I've been using the Lab-Box to do my developing of 120 B&W film in too.

I'd love to have a Lab Box, if I ever win the Powerball or Mega Millions that will be on my purchase list.

Doc, do you use the powder or the liquid, and how long does it last?

I've used the liquid and to be honest, I don't know how long it lasts as it's been quite a while since I've used it. The chart that comes with it gives the 'use by date' if I recall and how many minutes to add to the development/fixing process for each use.

(I use my sous-vide cooker to keep everything at the proper temperature)

I've been using the monobath with good results, but from what I've read & seen (youtube) you give up a little quality or control for the convenience. Only done 2 rolls, Arista 200 & HP5+ 400. The first thing is to get my laptop back from the repair shop this week, everything looks odd on this old one so must wait to see. I have the Cinestill 3 part liquid C41 kit but waiting to try it.

Love the grain. Can't remember, are you doing your own developing?

Yes, it depends on what the Postal Service decides they will let be shipped on any given month.....always changes.
