While I’ve read the new Fujifilm 400 is rebranded Kodak 400, I’m thinking yours is less grainy. TerryMc

I shot this roll at ISO 200 hoping to reduce grain a bit. Crashed and burned. Either my lenses are not sharp, or the film just can't capture fine detail. HorribleAvatar Senior Member ![]() More info | Jun 04, 2023 18:48 | #5377 Have any of you used any of the Contax G series rangefinders? Are they worth the current prices or have they been overvalued liked a lot of film cameras these last few years? I'm getting tired of my Canon Elan and wanted to fiddle around with something else. Any thoughts would be appreciated. flickr

I had a Contax G1. Absolutely wonderful camera to shoot with, but af was too unreliable. I bought mine in like new condition with the 40mm about 3 years ago for $525. I personally don’t think it’s worth what some of them go for today. I sold mine after missing one too many photos due to the af.

HorribleAvatar Senior Member ![]() More info | Jun 04, 2023 21:16 | #5379 Ya I did some research on various Reddit threads about all three in the series and the autofocus not being too good was a common complaint throughout all the threads. The lenses though are apparently some of the best ever made for film cameras. I dunno I'm a little bored right now but most of that's on me for not getting out there and shooting more. Thanks for the reply. flickr

The lenses are great. Supposedly the 45mm is one of the best lenses for film, but I wasn’t blown away by it. It was good, but I just wasn’t as impressed by it as a lot of people on the internet. I ended up getting rid of the 45 and picking up a 28mm. That lens ended up being the one that impressed me, and it’s one of the reasons I miss the camera. When I sold the Contax, I bought a Hexar Af and that camera had the type of AF that I wish the G1 had. Extremely fast and always accurate.

Jun 05, 2023 15:57 | #5381 I did another camera repaint. This time I repainted my Fed-2. Stripping it down to the brass was a lot harder than it was with my Canon P. It was originally brown and I hated it. I like it a lot more in black. I’ll try to run a roll through it at some point this summer.
