Hey Guys,

My computer recently crashed and I had to re-install windows and Lightroom. Now when I insert my compact flash card into the reader, I do not get any options from windows to upload to Lightroom, like I used to (it now lists several programs that I can choose from but not Lightroom). Before, as soon as I inserted the card, the Lightroom import screen would come up, or at least show up among all the programs I could upload to.

How can I tell vista to open Lightroom when it automatically detects a compact flash card?

P.S. Within Lightroom I have the "Automatically detect memory Card" option checked within the preferences menu, but it doesn't seem to do any good.

Thanks for your help!

Sometimes the technology fails us and we have to do things the old-fashioned way, manually opening the application, an onerous imposition though it may be. Adversity makes us stronger.

Which version of Windows are you using? You should be able to go into the control panel to "Autoplay" and change the setting accordingly.

I'm using Vista 64. When I go to the autoplay under the control panel, Lightroom is not listed among all the available programs. My question is, how do I get it listed there?

You're right that Lightroom won't show up in the Autoplay listing. What happens if you plug in the card reader and try Import from Device? Does the card show up as a device (as opposed to a disk drive)?

Mine does. I'm using Win 7 RC 64-bit
