When you're looking at a forum thread menu, and you hover your mouse over the subject lines that reveal in a balloon a preview of the post body, is it possible to expand this beyond the current setting which is about equal to a sentence? How about 2 or 3 sentences or the first paragraph?

If not possible, please drop this into the suggestion box for the new board.

Just click the thread title and you'll see more :)

I could make it show more, or the whole message, but frankly I've always found that feature "odd". You can't possibly get an idea what the poster is all about by reading few first lines.

I will agree for the most part.

However, where the feature does come in handy is with those posts that have poorly-written subject titles.

Such as "I need help" or "printer won't print"

The feature allows you to hover over the post without opening it to determine if you can help or if the person is asking about something you cannot help with.

I like the feature and agree that a line or two more would be useful, I often find the preview balloon filled with the line "I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread..." which then gives me no idea as to what it's about!! On a dial up connection I'd rather not click each link. :D

Exactly! That's the situation. The beginning sentence and-a-half seems more often than not to be some sort of introductory lead not related to the question. (Unlike my carefully crafted, totally well-written OP above, of course! ;) )

DialUp? You have my deepest and sincerest sympathies. I was forced to use dialup a while back and almost threw the laptop out the window. Completely frustrating.
