I took my camera to a Pow Wow yesterday and my battery meter showed a low battery after shooting maybe 50-60 frames. The battery had been fully charged a few weeks ago and I put it in that morning. Shortly after deciding to slow my shooting down the meter showed a full charge again.

In the past I have shot a couple of hundred frames from a fresh battery. My batteries are four years old and my guess is they have been charged around 20-30 times.
I have only "refreshed" them 2 or 3 times each and usually run them pretty flat before switching them.

How long have your batteries lasted? Have you had the battery meter show low and then go back up?

BTW I was using IS lenses and it was on almost constantly.

It would be nice if they last untill the 1D MK IV comes out.:)

When I bought my MkIIN, I ordered two new Lenmar batteries. They have been lasting 3000 shots each with lot's of chimping and previewing. I do not have any IS lenses. On maybe the 4th charge now, I refresh every other charge.

There are a great many variables in battery life. We all handle our cameras a little differently, and our own behavior can influence how rapidly the batter will be consumed.

I, for example, do a lot of viewfinder hunting without necessarily pressing the shutter button. The ratio of focusing and image stabilizing per shot is probably a lot higher with me than with a lot of other shooters who spend a lot less time looking through the viewfinder. Even so, I've never used up a battery on my 1Dm2.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!
