You are correct, it is not but I don't have much choice with my kit 18-55. 20-30% too small to really qualify going by my cropped sensor if I am correct. :o

Do you have to lenses? In my early macro days I would tape another lens to the front of the kit lens.

Just the one lens, but I have some things kicking around to hold in front of it which I shall try... I had a choice, eat or buy camera. :rolleyes:

tried the only two lenses I have from helping hands and the smallest I can get is 18mm, +3mm off! Therefore I would still have to crop the image...

Guess I will have to start looking for an old cheap lens to start with in order to obtain a reproduction ratio greater than 1:1... :)
