Before I go through the trouble of sending this in to Canon repair, I wanted to ask everyone here of possibilities that may or may not be the case.
Essentially, I have a brand new 580ex II. Brand new in the sense that I don't put it through a rigorous use like a "real photographer" would put it through and essentially, my flash just stopped working after normal use.
When attached to the camera, the LCD screen is lit up and I can change settings, however, the pilot light and the little light below it isn't lit up. Obviously, when trying to use it, no flash comes out.
I have fresh batteries, used it on different cameras and still the same result. I don't use any external powerpack or for that matter did anything to the flash (like I didn't drop it or anything).
Anyone have any other suggestions or is this a clear enough indication that the flash is defective/broken.
If it's broken, I'm going to be disappointed for I don't even use the flash as often or as rigorous as it can handle.
Thanks in advance!
