The Wales National Airshow took place over Swansea bay on 11-12 July 2009. I came out of it with around 1,200 shots, which I find somewhat remarkable for a 2-year-old kit battery that's only meant to do 500, according to the manual. The following were shot with a Canon EOS 400D and Tamron 55-200 f/4-5.6 lens in AI Servo AF mode. I switched between shutter priority at 1/640-1/800s, and aperture priority at f/8-9 where the lens is sharpest.

) and contrast and saturation were enhanced for the Red Arrows and non-military aircraft; the rest are the camera's choice of colours. All were shot in JPEG as the 400D's buffer filled up too quicky shooting raw. I resized them all to 2048×1365 for uploading to Flickr.
