What to pay for a used 1D Mark III?

I love my 5d Mk2, but might be getting a job where I'll need to do some sports photog, and would like to get a 1D Mk III. Thing is, before I get the job, I'll have to go used.

I'm trying to get a feel for the market right now, but can't find a consensual price on one of these. How much does a good condition 1d MK III go for these days?

A quick search of the For Sell forum and $2,800- $3,000 looks like the going price.

lower end(high clicks, pre-update serial) $2700+
higher end $3000+

do not pay more than a new 5D mark II. The problem is the glass for sports you need high shutterspeeds so you need 2.8 also and the 400 mm will kill your VISA

check out adorama, they had a used on for around 2200, use the live.com cashback shopping search and get an additional 3 percent.

I gave $2500 shipped and paypalerd for mine with less than 2000 clicks.

paid 2400 for mine and 3000 clicks or so. I did play the currency conversion market though. Bought it from an aussie.

EUR 1750,-- is enough
