Ok, I'll chime in. I don't like Jerry J. because he screwed over Bill Parcells, err I mean Jimmy Johnson and replaced him like a bet in "Trading Places" with Switzer... I think Jerry J. should be flogged and have to lift it 2 inches higher with his own back.

I think a raising of 20 feet wouldn't hurt. I just have a huge problem with everyone pointing their self-righteous fingers at my team's organization as the ones at fault.

I'm only pointing half a finger at Jerry. ;)

If the NFL wants to change the minimum-overhang requirements, go for it!

I will assume that's a given from this point on.

You still didn't answer my last question though. ;)

Now now. I actually think Jones was a genius. The Herschel Walker trade that he orchestrated was pure genius (aided by pure idiocy on the Viking's part). Building his team around a great offensive line (one of the greatest of all time) and a very good defense was textbook football and should have become the roadmap to success for every team of the last two decades. That O-line turned very good players into football immortals. As great as Aikman-Smith-Irvin was, they would have been nothing without that O-line. I can't name 10 offensive lineman that played 14 years ago (and only a couple of the Eagles' linemen) but I can still name every player on that Cowboys' O-line.

Now, what he's done in the last 14 years while riding that success from the early 90's is one part great business sense off the field and one part "HUH?!?!" on the field. It has brought in a lot of money for the Cowboys.

And I've been very happy with the Cowboys for the last 14 years.

Back to fantasy football...
Are we still on for the Thursday, 8/27/09, draft for league #2? I cannot log into the league at work so I will have to try to do it at home.

Yes, and I might add that we have an advantage over league 1... since we've got an extra week to see what shakes out in pre-season stuff... injuries, etc...

I'm starting a petition to raise funds to pay for the change in video board height. The goal is to lower it 5 feet (since the league said 85 feet or higher before construction) to meet the league specs.

Here's an article that Albert Breer at Sportingnews.com wrote today:

It's worth a look for those who, blinded by your own personal hate and prejudices, immediately started throwing stones at JJ over the video-boards issue.

And if a bridge falls, it's everyone's fault. Especially if the architect tested and found it would only fall if people drove over the speed limit. They build the bridge and the first day its open someone goes 5 over and the bridge comes tumbling down. You don't think the architect would carry any blame?

I think a better analogy would be:
A contractor/architect is hired by the government to create a bridge with 70mph limit. The architect thinks that some people might go over the speed limit and decided to use materials that can hold traction up to 90mph before cars may lose traction and cause accident.

The government didn't put a speed limit and someone drove a Ferari @ 100mph on the bridge and hit the wall. Whose fault would it be?

1. The driver knows that 100mph may be too fast
2. The architect knows that there are cars that can reach 160mph, but since the government will put 70mph limit, the chances would be low
3. The government didn't put the speed limit notice

Answer: Brett Favre - because he obviously drove that Vikings fan to commit suicide.

(sorry ;-)a )

Having a great time at the beach. I might miss the draft tomorrow night. :( There is some activities here on Thursday night only and I think the kids want to go, so... if you don't see me, I'm having fun! ;)

OOOHHH. That sentiment may not go down so well with your neighbors over in Kiln. Brett shouldn't be getting so much crap just because he thinks he looks good in purple.

Ha!, I loathe that he is local here... I see his ugly-ass, un-shaven mug on TV commercials here all the time. I always wondered about him and his tendencies, since John Madden seems so infatuated with his ass and his "boyhood" touch football qualities...

LOL

I can't wait for this season to start though... watch all the poor Viking fans slit their wrists by week 5.
