I've been messing around lately with long exposures and lights. Tell me what you think.

a great effort a bit of cropping on 1+2 to loose the objects from around the edges for a very good set of shots --keep it up a lets see more

I like the chair. that is pretty wild.

Curious about how you did that. I don't think I could ever get the light lines to be straight.

On the last picture, I wonder if you think there was noise in the picture from your camera's sensor. Did you use a high or low film speed rating?

Thanks everyone. To keep the first one straight, I made sure I moved the light against the chair, so it was like I was tracing it. Otherwise it would have been crooked.
On the last one, it didn't look anything like that out of the camera. I hit some automatic button on PhotoScape, and it came out all red and noisy.

Pictures 3-6 were lights connected to a ceiling fan, which I turned on the lowest spinning setting. They didn't turn out quite the way I wanted, but I like 6 for some reason.

IMO, #6 is graphically the strongest.

What did you use to get such perfect circles?

Ceiling fan.

Add to that, a Balanced Ceiling Fan. . But great shots, I love playing around w/ lights on long exposure shots even if I'm not in control of what the lights are doing ;)

The lights I used are the one's that connect to pens to make them light up. I just take the pen part out and use the light. One other light I used for the three circles was some light that came in a cereal box.

Here's a picture that I took while the lights were on. I had to add some more tape to the lights so they wouldn't fall off, but that was basically what I did.

man this idea is awesome and totally new to me. i am going to see if i can google some on it and start playing around with the ideas.

i really like #1 but agree that cropping down to just the chair would make it more appealing

Thanks. You should definitely try it out. It's a lot of fun and there's so much that can be done with it.
