I am looking at the CTR-301 specifications and cannot figure out how would I connect them to my Calumet Genesis or Alien Bees, both come with 3.5mm PC cords.
Any inexpensive solution for this ?

Hi vadim_c,

The CTR-301 does not have a sync port but I've read about a new version of the CTR-301 that is supposed to have a sync port. Unfortunately I don't have any more info than that.

The CTR-301P have a 2.5 cord connection. For Alienbees or Calumet you will need 2.5mm to 3.5 or 6.35 cable,
which you can obtain from www.flashzebra.com (external link)
Make sure you get the latest CTR-301P not the older CTR-301 which has no port on it.

Note: The CTR-301P comes with a 2.5mm to 6.35mm cable which is good for most strobe lights,
I think Alienbees and Calumet uses the same cable, so you may not need to buy extra cable.
