Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of building my Strobist setup. I think I forgot to order something, but I want to confirm that I'm right.

I'm using a miniphone cable (instead of Sync Cord) to attach my camera to my flash. On the CAMERA end, can I miniphone cable to the remote trigger port, or do I need the special device on my hotshoe that has monophone out? I'm kinda confused, I thought I had the right idea but now I'm worried I have it wrong.

Or is the only way to go Camera>Hotshoe to Sync Cord connection>miniphone adapter? :(

You'll need a hot shoe attachment. Mine is by Wein but I think it has a pc socket not a mini adapter.

Update... found the Wein. The model is HSHSB and as mentioned only has a pc socket. There might be one with a mini plug adapter?

I looked on Flash Zebra, and they only have PC cord versions too, darn. I don't know of many other sites who would have something for this.

Why the hell are these things so expensive too? I would have thought wired would be extremely cheap, but reliable.

Well looks like I might be going wireless if it costs $26 for a lousy Nikon hotshoe-to-PC cord adapter. Oh well :)

you will thank yourself by going wireless, nothing like tripping over a PC cord and almost knocking down something that will take a few months to heal from.

Yeah I considered that too. I would be so pissed if my camera got knocked over. Fortunately my strobes are extremely cheap. One is free, the other I got for like $30, and they are both as powerful as the 430EX.
