you have had the camera 3 months,

and have charged it so few times that being new to a 1 series made me actually have to pull it out of the bag and look at where it goes and remember how to get it out...

looked at the back, looked at the on off grip switch side then finally flipped it over and pulled it out...

FLAT OUT DOING THE TAX/BOOKS for the year but had to charge batts - portrait session tonight in friends studio with our new baby girl...

had a laugh and a smile even though i dont have the time - thought id share it with you all.. :)

keep smiling - nicko

Yeah the battery life on the 1D3 is freaking nuts. I shot with it non-stop for a week and it was only on 50% after that. When I wasn't pushing it, I could get a good 8000 frames on one battery.

Glad to read this...

I'm road tripping the end of the month and the 1-series charger is something I'd rather leave at home.

Two batteries ought to get me through 10 days of MkIII use!!

Yeah, the battery life and poor high-ISO were what prompted me to sell the 1D classic. It's a nice body otherwise.

I had two batteries with my 1D3 and I never used the second battery. Not even once.

LOL...

Well, I'll be in an "orgiastic" state here (external link) so I may end up needing the second one (at least for a day maybe?)

Well I've never brought the 1D3 to an orgy before, so it's a good precaution.

And don't forget, when it comes to batteries, don't listen to a single thing I say.

I'm enjoying mine but every so often I feel like I should have gotten a 40D or that I should sell both the 1D and 400D and buy a 40D now... but I love using it so I'd rather just wait until I can afford to get a 1D2 or 1D2N as an upgrade.

Noticed it does have a fairly shot shelf life though, had my battery since august 2k7 and now it only lasts me 3500 shots ;) (maybe 2500 with full on chimping and LV )

Someone here had over 10k. All on how you use it, and the more you shoot in one sitting the better mileage you get, kind of like driving on a highway vs NYC gridlock.

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

Depend on what you are doing, I shot the great swim over 2000 shots with 80% left.
