Glad you got it working.

Just except for the size, 1280px is exceeds the forum size limit.

Lovely colourful images Peter! Looks like a cracking day out. The nightime shots are equally spectacular. Is this an annual festival?

On a separate topic - do you guys think this 1DII looks like a good prospect at £635 or would you stay clear? Certainly looks like it has had some hard hours put on it. Apart from the explained scratches the hotshoe looks worn, so does the shutter button surround and is has ingrained dirt all over the grip.

Still £635 for a 1d II?

Knowing the build quality of the 1D bodies, I'd say that damage was purely cosmetic. If you want a camera to do a job (and do it well), it seems to be a good deal. If you just want to pose with it, then probably not.. :D

It is, every August. I highly recommend it especially the early morning Launch at 6:00am and the Night Glow at around 9:30pm.
Plus it's free:D:D

I did post an invite but got no takers.

Thanks for the Assist and Pete.

PS size limit ackowledged.

I will retire with new knowledge tonight.

Love the balloon images, I wish I could've gone. A balloon shoot is still on my wish-list.

Cheers, it is really spectacular seeing 100 Balloons launch together.
Perhaps i should organise it as a meet for 2010, it will soon come round:confused:

On a different subject i got a HTC Touch phone on a trial from a mobile supplier.
What a cool gadget that is.

I wonder if they will forget to ask for it back ;)

I'm sure I read somewhere that there was one at Leeds Castle around this time but can't find any info on it. Was I dreaming?

They do fly balloons from the grounds of Leeds castle on a fairly regular basis in the summer.

I'll have another look at their website. I really want to see the dawn with some balloons all firing up into the air. Especially against a vivid blue sky :)

I don't know if I did the right thing today but a mate asked if I wanted his old laptop joking I said I'd give him 50 quid for it he said bit more and you can have it so i said a ton and he said ok and I bought it. Well it's a Compac Presario F700 with a AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core processor TK-53 1.7ghz 2gig of ram and 17 inch wide screen.
So did i get a good deal? it's one of those spur of the moment things that you later regret or find you've got a good deal.

 I don't get it...

Seems like a good offer though for about £50

Right take two based on the information kindly supplied by Mr Rob.

I bought it for £100 not £50 and with all second hand computers what are they really worth?

On another note if anyone is interested on bank holiday manday the Old Timers Rally is on the Leas in Folkestone, lots of classic cars on show it's a good day if the weather is nice.

Took me five attempts of driving past a sign to read it all, black on flouro pink isn't a great roadside combination. Would like to go if I weren't up north at a wedding.
