But how often would you click to open the thread on the front page, vs go to the first unread? Also not everyone has facebook. Lets not forget this thread is over 3000 posts in a handful of weeks.

I see your point, it does move rather quick. Perhaps just a quick check every day to see what's happening.

By the way if anyone wants to put a meet in the first post just PM me or Pete if I'm not about.

I do every now and then just to check to see if there are any upcomming meets I'm not aware of. I am on Facebook, but I don't recall the last time I checked that group for new meet info.

Plus, as meets get closer the chatter about them increases and it becomes more difficult to miss posts about it :)

I've been kicking around this thread for quite some time now and I don't think I've ever really seen anyone miss out on a meet they would have gone too because they didn't know about it. Or at least, nobody has posted anything along those lines anyways.

Great review - I'm almost tempted to trek the 40 miles up there to try it out :)

I wonder if it's possible to have a PM Mailing List on POTN for organising meets? It would be great to have a list of all in this thread and then just mail all at the click of a button. Pete?

It is rather good, and very French which is brilliant, even down to the lack of English and red checkered tablecloths :D

I was really hoping that Christians photo meetups website (plug (external link)) would have the functionality of creating your own meetups and sending out messages from there.

It makes me want to build my own site for managing just such a thing ;)

All this talk of meets, brings us neatly onto the subject of Meat. And thus BBQ's. ;)

Earlier in the year, there was talk of the possibility of a thread BBQ when the summer came round.
The weather is currently nice, but we are racing towards the nights drawing in again, so I was wondering if anything had been arranged yet?

I would put my garden forward as a venue but i am A: not very central to most people and B: live with my parents at the moment so its not completely practical.

We could possibly arrange a beach BBQ or something if there are no available gardens?

What do you guys think?

Everywhere it seems. I'd never heard of it. Works out about 60p a shot from what I can gather on my short googling experience. I'm sure it can be found cheaper.

Sounds like a good plan to me. I'd say we could have it at mine but alas, I have no garden :(

Cool. Seems like a fun toy to have if you can get your hands on it for cheap enough.

Another big cheer from the cricket viewers outside...

I have a garden but could probably only accomadate 10 peeps - table only seats 6 but could maybe fit another table for 4 in there too (unless people want to sit on the floor). That said, I'm nowhere near the London/Surrey/Berks crowd.

Camera + Film is £12 on eBay so far, but will probably be more than £30-40 when finished.

But you are perfect for some really eerie night photography at Dungeness :)
