The inside of these lastolite copies is fully reflective - the face of the speedlight sits just at the opening at the back, not inside the softbox itself, so the light gets bounced around allot. You could also use a sto-fen to scatter the light so it is more like a bare bulb set-up too. I don't have any examples to hand, but the light from the lastolite copy is very even and soft. I have no buyers remorse - I got mine for £39 including delivery and i am considering getting another one. From the video on the ebay page, it looks like the only real difference is that one and the lastolite copy is that the lastolite has 2 diffusion panels instead of just the one. http://www.evilkitchen.ca

I agree. This is why it needs to be "watered down" with the aforementioned vodka http://www.evilkitchen.ca

Out of interest what benefit would the softbox give over say a £20 33" shoot through umbrella? 5D | 40D | Σ24 f1.8 | 50 f1.8 II | 85 f1.8 | 70-200 F4L | 540EZ x2 | Nissin Di622

A softbox produces a more directional light than an umbrella, which spead ligh over a very large area, with undefined edges. Rob

Current proceedings on that indicate they are all going to get banged up for impersonating police officers (as they couldn't pin anything else on them). Cheers http://www.evilkitchen.ca

To be fair, it's probably a negligable amount. But when you're only lightsource is a 430EX/II you might need all the light you can produce!!! Scott

Perhaps just a quick check every day to see what's happening. By the way if anyone wants to put a meet in the first post just PM me or Pete if I'm not about. Yep, I can do that. But I'm on holiday for two weeks starting on Tuesday... Anke wrote in post #8499290 I wonder if it's possible to have a PM Mailing List on POTN for organising meets? It would be great to have a list of all in this thread and then just mail all at the click of a button. Pete? I guess it could be done that way, but of course you'll only be including the "regulars" in that list, anyone lurking who might want to attend won't be included in a PM list.

Cool, with you. souporman wrote in post #8500840 That's what they were arrested for on the spot that day. One of the members of the group was talking to me, probably assuming I was press or something, and filled me in. Lol. Good old student political activists. On a serious note the guy I know is playing it down but as you say from a distance they look legit and could have caused problems. Apparently it's in court early next year, he's playing down that they'll really get sent to prison but I'd not be surprised if they do myself. 5D | 40D | Σ24 f1.8 | 50 f1.8 II | 85 f1.8 | 70-200 F4L | 540EZ x2 | Nissin Di622
