It can freeze from anything as simple as looking on Facebook to using lightroom and CS3. It does'nt seems to have any patterns, can go 5 mins from booting up to 6,7,8 hours .. beano wrote in post #8505674 Matt, did you sort out the Logitech drivers? Also and if not is there continuous hard drive running (sometime heard as well as seen by the HDD activity LED on the case). That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans

Back from a lovely week in Brittany. I didn't get a load of photos as it wasn't really a photo hol but I got a few. Will post them in the next few days. Bugger of an evening though - it took 45 minutes to get out of Dover docks because 3 ships off-loaded at the same time, got home to find that the freezer hadn't been shut properly so it had iced up and needs defrosting, picked my computer up - didn't realise it didn't come with a power cable so I have everything now but power for it! But I did get an email from Windows magazine which told me I'd won one of these: http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=229398 Welcome back, Mike. Bit of a result with the radio, how did you win that in Windows Magazine? Kaben wrote in post #8505359 Hey guys, here are a few from today's WHF trip. I will post more tomorrow - i am really not in teh right mood for sorting/editing pcitures tonight. This tiger took serious exception to me. Whilst i had my lens pressed against the wire fence, this Tigress roared incredibly loudly and leaped against the fence, followed by aggressive snarling and swiping. Needless to say i shat myself. This is the only picture i got as i was too busy running back from the fence. Sadly i dont think Adrian caught it either - it was really scary, even knowing that it couldnt get to me. ![]() Here is the same tigress, but in a more sedate setting. ... This tiger wasn't the only Cat to dislike me - one of the leopards went for me too.Its quite scary, but it does lead to some awesome photos! I will upload those tomorrow.(The keeper said it was because of my blue t-shirt, but i wasn't so sure) Great shots, this one is really scary!! Mstar wrote in post #8505740 Had an interesting day a couple of days ago. Had a tornado go past me in Toronto. Ontario had 4 twisters touch down! http://www.cbc.ca/photogallery/canada/2483/ I was watching a baseball match when the storm erupted. It was really noisy and there was lots of thunder, but, I was in an enclosed stadium, so was nice and dry. The storm only lasted like 25 mins. Really loud. 600 homes were affected. Here are two shots. 1st the Bluejays v's Boston. 2nd is taken 30 mins after the storm, from the Rogers Stadium I'm at the airport now, making my way home. Cool, that must've been quite an experience. Looking forward to some piccies from you when you get home Anke

Get a load of this Southern European Lynx taken at a Big Cat sanctuary ~ we warned about this one and his friend who lure togs close and then the one nearest the fence leaps forward and can actually get a paw through for some "fun" eek. For the record this was taken standing about 1.5 feet from the cage but holding the camera at about mid thigh height closer to the bars themselves and was a grab shot. Cor!, that shot is a beauty Anke

Also and if not is there continuous hard drive running (sometime heard as well as seen by the HDD activity LED on the case). As I did not catch the first time you mentioned this I am unsure what beano is saying about Logitech drivers but if you are using a specialist mouse/wireless keyboard etc then perhaps a period of using a big standard attached keyboard and roller ball mouse will not go amiss. But the fact that you say the freeze is random and not time dependent does make me think of a hardware issue unless you have specific error codes showing or being recorded in a log (I am sure XP has a logging system ~ someone I hope can throw soem light on that aspect?). If hardware the problem is that most methods of isolating it are by elimination i.e. progessively replace parts...........! Before the re-install I was getting errors from disc & Logitec in Computer Management It crashed last night and has brough up non of them errors now. I had my shutter held down for the whole thing whilst backing off rapidly - the 9-10 shot sequence looks like something fron the blair witch project - you can see my feet running in a couple! :o

That was at the cat survival trust outing a couple of years ago, wasn't it? I remember that Lynx, it was an evil bugger.
