Nice to start to see the images from the SE POTNers who have or have returned from travels but did someone say scarey cats for scaredey (sp) "cats".

Get a load of this Southern European Lynx taken at a Big Cat sanctuary ~ we warned about this one and his friend who lure togs close and then the one nearest the fence leaps forward and can actually get a paw through for some "fun" eek. For the record this was taken standing about 1.5 feet from the cage but holding the camera at about mid thigh height closer to the bars themselves and was a grab shot.

Great shot there, good to know some people don't run from a sweet ol' "little" putty tat :p

Here are some from London, they seem rather tame now after seeing the big cats.

Oh how dare you insult the lads from Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery by call them Horse Guards  We killed people for less when I was with them! Not that the guys from the Household Cavalry would be to pleased by that description either.

Their Gunners from Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery F and E Subs From the looks of them F Sub being the ones on the darkest coloured Horses as they are the ones that pull the gun carriage at a state funeral which the coffin rides on and because of this are never allowed to leave the country. Kings Troop has 6 subs A-F A rides light coloured bays and the horses in each sub get darker in colour till you get to F sub who have the darkest bays/black horses. Pub quiz fact of the day there:D

That was at the cat survival trust outing a couple of years ago, wasn't it? I remember that Lynx, it was an evil bugger.

Pete

Thats the trouble with those Homer Simpson moments I forget too many folk I meet on the odd occasion ~ yes it was the Big Cats Sanctuary. The meet was organised by condyk (Dave) [who I think with a gang of POTNers are currently in South Africa - theres a thread here https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=572847] and lead by Mark Tiller. The Sanctuary was a good place to go but a pity that "they" were limited on space for some of the cat species.

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

@ KC - nice range of subjects on that London trip

@ Ronin - I think it does work as B&W but lacks a contrast, its all too flat and lacks 'focus' indeed it could do with some sharpening???

On a big cats note - just heard a new item. There atre only 400 Sumatran Tigers known to exist some b*****ds have killed and butchered a female in a zoo in Indonesia just leaving the drugged meat they used to subdue it and the intestines. Just what will those that believe such animals mean to their trdaitional medicine do when they have managed to wipe out such a species!!!! Also reports of ivory poaching are coming back into the news ~ Grrrr!
