Just popping in briefly, got a couple of thousand of shots from the weekends bike racing to sort.

Yup, I'm in I'll be taking the 400 2.8 it's always worth battling carrying the weight. I'll prob use it with a tripod.

I do have a sigma 120-300 f/2.8 I can lend out as long as it is looked after, it's not going to be the best conditions for swapping lenses in situ! and it's by no means as 'rugged' as the 400L!

Whatever it was, it was content to let me stalk up to about 2m away (this is full frame) and let me snap away, run out of battery, go back indoors, change battery, come back outside and get up close again.
