That is another vote for sky so it looks as if I will definitely go witn them. The other advantage is you can get sky anywhere, as we are in rented we will be moving in a year or two and might not be able to get Virgin

We get ours free too cuz its on the 2mbs ..

Did you use an offline blog editor?

Not exactly - i edited the CSS / HTML directly from files given in the template. Thing is you have to pay £55 for 3 months "support" at graph paper to be able top work out what the hell they have done with their coding. I wasn't very impressed as they respond to the "support" forum very slowly and usually just blame wordpress if anything goes wrong. Luckily i managed to get mine sorted (mostly) before my 3 months were up.

I have no intention of renewing as they really don't give much support for the money.

See I'm not that into that for what I want. I like the way you can still keep the Heading like "People, Sports" etc so you have a link off to another page from the front

Hi everyone - hope you can help!

I need to scan some old b&w family photos and was wondering if anyone of you can recommend a company?...I'm unsure of any of the ones on the net so far as I've never done this before. I'm kinda nervous about sending them off and having them being lost in the post!

Also, I'm hoping some of the tiny photos can then be enlarged - like to 8"x6" size max - any experience with enlarging scans?

Scanners are pretty cheap these days and have good resolution. That might be the best solution for you (and safe too).

Yeah, I was thinking of it - I remember seeing an Epson one mentioned in a photo mag that gave really great results but it was in £180ish bracket. As I hardly ever scan...in fact, this is probably going to be the last time I do it, I was thinking that getting a lab to do it would be far cheaper.

...but I could be wrong!

If you're looking at 8 x 6 size, then a cheaper scanner will give you very decent results, I think. I have an old Canon scanner that wasn't very expensive and does a fine job. As long as you can de-moire when you're scanning, there shouldn't be a problem.

Ok, maybe I should try it at work first - we've got a HP one - and see how it goes from there!

...btw, what is "de-moire"?

Moire is the small spots you see when you see a scanned photo sometimes, especially if it's scanned from a newspaper/magazine.

As an example:-

(it's me as a kid, BTW)
