You may need to enter into an agreement with them or something. Maybe it's something Alamy has handled before.

Trouble is I'd marked it as Editorial Only, i.e. no advertising as the shot was taken on Private Property. The agency said that the buyers would be responsible for getting all the releases and would take full responsibilty for anything. Should I sell it? I have been asked many times when shooting on this property if I am for commercial reasons and have always said no, so to then sell an image I took under this pretence would be wrong, no? Thoughts? What Pete said! Rob

I would in this case agree. ~Are you allowed to tell us what the picture is of or even better show us?? Adrian

The usual way is to get permission first before shooting, not wait until a sale. The buyer is accepting full responsibility but that doesn't stop me getting into trouble I reckon. Anke

Although it is tempting to take the money and run. Anke

Great to get that sort potential sale. And yes it seems that Alamy (their client) will aim to obtain authority to use it but the one stickng point is :- That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans

I calculated the price and it should be four figures easy. Big dilemma. Based on your feedback on my questions/thoughts it is your call but if you made the sale IMO make sure you get the full value i.e. you are not subbing the Alamy/client paying the commercial usage fee (retrospectively paid?) That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans

Also make it a condition that they "disclaimer you" from further action by the Private Property owners though if such were done that may still preclude you from taking anymore pictures there? Based on editorial use only what is its Alamy value? I'm thinking of calling the owners and explaining the situation that someone saw the photo I took and then offered to buy it, and then asking if they can. Anke
