I was hoping to be able to go out today with my new 24-105 however it has not arrived yet and so I am sulking somewhat. So much so that I may be forced to partake in some comfort shopping and order a 580EX II....

Idle hands are the devils play thing ;)

I'm feeling tempted by a 28 f2.8 to partner with my 50mm. Starting to wonder if I really need a zoom to cover between 22 and 70. The two primes will cover all I need really. Was considering a 24-70 or a 28-70 if I can find one cheaper but reports seem to be that the prime is sharper and gives better colour. Tempting to PM Kerso.

Also now considering pulling apart my spare welding mask to try it as a filter.

Usually the best time to order stuff, by the time the alcohol wears off and the guilt kicks in it's far too late anyway :D

I am ditching my 55-250mm soon as 90 of the shots were at 250 and I wanted more and the other 10% were below 100mm which my 24-105 will now cover. Gonna save for a 300mm f4 & tc next year.
Going to use the Winter to get used to flash photography, I'll concentrate on longer reach shots when the weather improves.

Agreed.

I was going to buy it before Donna Nook anyway, but i was planning to wait until the next pay cheque. At least this way i definitely get it before the expected Canon price increase fo 10%

Yeah that worries me, however as I'll be buying most of my stuff 2nd hand going forward I shouldn't feel the hit too much, fingers crossed.

Waiting on seeing if I win a Speedlight 580 EX II on ebay tonight, if not I'll order new for that I guess. 2nd hand these seem rare :(

The 580s seem to go in and out at MPB on the same day.

It does have an impact on 2nd hand prices too though :(

After getting the 100-400, i dont think there is anything else i really want as far as my lens lin -up is concerned.

Means i can save for a 1Divvy

Yep and the prices still seem to be ludicrously high too :(
Kerso has them at £275+£10p&p (next day), £370 seems to be the going rate everywhere else.

I may look at Sigma if Canon start taking the micheal. A 100-300 f4 EX would probably do me.

I've noticed with e-bay that some things go for more there than they do at MPB, which is why I keep an eye on them.

Highlight for me was Dilip paying double on ebay for a 550EX than I paid at MPB. I never seem to find bargains on the bay though.

Karma that it was Dilip though :D

I find them but never win them, usually out bid by a £1 or something silly :(

Also looking at selling the car soon so goin gto spend some time looking for a bangernomic. Thinking a Golf GTi MkI or II, maybe a polo G40.
I simply do not need my car, too much engine for a 20mile round trip a day.
