Never going to win the 580 on eBay :(
Is there really that much point in me getting the 580 over the 430 ?
Hmmm...

I have never used the 580 but have the 430 mk I and the one thing I am not impressed with is it is not particularly powerful. I know if I were buying another one I would go for the 580 but then it does cost a bit more.

Really looking forward to getting my hands on it - will be very perfect for DN.

Are you still going to the photo show at Brands Hatch on Tuesday? I'm going to head up early to catch Guy Gowans seminar.

Will come with your for stags on Frida 16th if you do go!

Yes, I am definitely going for the Guy Gowan show. I was impressed by his last presentation and been using his techniques. From memory he kicks off at 10 and I was going to get there for 9:30. Do you need a lift?

An interesting conversation twixt wife and me yesterday -

Wife - "What's that you're playing with now?

Me - "Well err I errr - only a camera darling"

Wife - "I can see that - but what sort of camera?"

Me - "Oh, nothing special in fact I didn't pay full price for it"

Wife - With more pointed questioning - "What sort of camera?"

Me - "Well, its what Canon call the 7D"

Wife - "Where did the money come from for that?"

Me - "Don't worry about it darling (with emphasis on the darling) I paid by credit card"

Wife - But your credit card account don't have that much available"

Me - I know dear - It was your credit card! Now about this new 100mm IS Macro..........."

I will post some pics later in week but first impressions are very positive.
