Quality was good. I found my copy very soft at 300mm. On some other forums people rave about some of the Tamron kit but had no experience myself. www.iesphotography.co.uk

Shame as I'm in a lucky position that most of my kit is better that the official togs although she has got a new 5DMKII but she is borrowing my 70-200 2.8 as hers is the F4 and the other guy shoots a Nikon D3 so nuff said ![]() They are both a bit stressed out shooting this wedding worried I won't keep my gob shut and let them get on with it They are friends and great togs so they'll be OK.The only down side is the Charity Shield is the following day! gutted that I won't be on the sidelines at Wembley shooting that!! Weddings!!! oversight on my part - I should have read your sig a little closer - no wonder they are nervy! I shot a friends wedding earlier this year and it is daunting, I think the most pressure comes from wanting to do your friends proud - especially if they are proficient toggers themselves! 500px

I have also been reading, reading and more blooming reading about advice on a non L zoom to replace my poo kit lens! I seem to have Sigma Tamron and Canon bleeding out my eyes and still not closer to getting anything. I can only part with about £250 so limited choice but I am leaning towards a used non Canon for the better speed lens up to about 70mm and then perhaps a 55-250 or a 70-300mm Canon. If you can give me your input if you have had the cheap skate lenses in your poorer days then I would much appreciate it. To me most advice I read is get the 18-55 iS or spend 3x as much on L glass ![]() Had the 55-250 IS great lens mine was very sharp and with the IS, albeit the non USM makes it a bit noisy but very compact, would not hesitate in recommending one Flickr

For range I got a Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro when I bought my camera but at 300mm it's too soft for my liking. Got the 70-200 F4L now was £465 from Kerso and it's a far better lens (if you can cope without that little extra reach, and afford the cost). It's one of those things though, the money swiftly scales up. 5D | 40D | Σ24 f1.8 | 50 f1.8 II | 85 f1.8 | 70-200 F4L | 540EZ x2 | Nissin Di622
