Tonight the carnival starts at around 7pm with it kicking off from the Walmer end of the Strand then working it's way down past Deal Castle and along the sea front toward Sandown Castle. Interest of the participants generally peters out by the time they reach the Royal Hotel. Most years over 80% of the carnival is carnival queens or majorettes. The local businesses do seem to have lost interest in doing floats over the years.

This thread does move too fast doesn't it.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe everyone's out taking pictures.

I have been here all day...just had very little to say for myself! Mrs G is keeping a tight hold on the financial situation regarding the new computer - reckons £900 is way too much, so I went onto the Mesh website and upgraded their top i7 machine to the max, came out near 6 grand and I sent her that price. She seems more reasonable now! Haha!

We've had guests, alone now so back at the computer, looks like rain on and off for the afternoon too. Bah.

I went out with every intention of taking some shots at lunchtime and got caught in a downpour - so I am drenched and photoless at my desk! :(

D'Oh! :D At least you made the effort. I've been stuck in a bit of a rut recently. Nothing I take is any good and I can't seem to find any inspiration.

Right, I fancy making one of these: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=650854 anyone local know anywhere likely to sell the bits, or somewhere UK based online selling them. Don't want to be picking up bits here and there and costing more on the delivery. Going to a shop and buying the bits in person seems easier mind.
