Cameta Prices

I'm looking at the 70-200F/2.8L IS at Cameta currently $1549.95+9.00 shipping for a brand new US model. BH is $1699+free shipping. I've read that Cameta is reputable. Any reason for the $140 difference?

I have purchased from Cameta in the past and would recommend them. Don't expect the same level of service that you would get from Amazon, Adorama or B&H, but they are reliable and honest.

I always purchase my equipment from a reputable dealer like B&H and Adorama.

Out of stock at Adorama, Amazon and $140 higher at B&H compared to Cameta. I'd like to buy it before the rebate expires next month.

Cameta is reputable. They're just not a mega store like B&H and Adorama. Many, many people on POTN have purchased from them without complaint.

Do yourself a favor and start using www.resellerratings.co​m. Cameta has excellent reviews on there- EXCELLENT! I've bought from all the major reputable stores as well as smaller ones and I've never had a problem with Cameta. In fact, I had some concerns and the customer service guy was very helpful and understanding. I would buy from them again with no hesitation.

I can also recommend Cameta. I've bought a camera body and a lens from them and have absolutely no problems. I had to email their customer service once and they emailed me back within 24 hours.

I bought few items at their "in store", its small store. the people who works there are so friendly and kind of down the earth, cauasl ...they enjoy to chat about photo stuff and very helpful...the price is alrite.

Drat. They just raised the price $50 and raised the shipping to $29.

I too have purchased from Camata. no problems, they have been quick to ship and to date have packed everyting very securely and well padded. If they have the best price ( plus shipping handleing etc) I will buy from them again. They are Canon Authorized dealers.

they are reputable but I dont recommend them.

I ordered the same lens as you for next day deliver as I was heading out for vacation on Friday and I placed the order on a sunday so that It would be sent on Monday to arrive on Tuesday.

Monday I get home from work to find an email saying the all the 70-200 IS 2.8L 's are damaged and can not be shipped, I can either wait for a new shipment (which they couldnt tell me when this would be) or I could get a refund that can take up to 72 hours to process..I opted for the refund and went with B and H instead. the thing that really wound me up is the whole time that this was happening on the cameta's web site it said the lens was instock, so I of course contacted them on several days to find out if this was accurate as they were cheaper than b and h and I would have gone through them if they had the lens, each time I spoke with someone they confirmed the lens was not instock...even though the web said it was. so I would just be careful when you order as there website is not always correct, and even people on the phone cant always confirm lens is there until your money is taken!!
