So...
As I went on a PhotoWalk today here in Lisbon, I was wondering how many people here went to one as well and how did it go...

I'll start..
First of all, our "leader" got there like 30min late and just cause we (three photowalkers, cause all the others canceled) called him. Then, out of nothing, he said he had ripped his pants and needed to buy a shirt to cover it up (Oh Lord...). And when we arrived at the last place, we were waiting on him to say goodbye and all that, he had just disappeared, like nowhere to be found...we called him, sent him text messages...nothing!!!
So we just left...

Well, that was my PhotoWalk...hopefully yours were a bit better.

Marco.

It's 115 here in AZ today. No way, no how was I going out today...

Attended last year and it was Ok. Don't feel like I'm missing anything Earth shattering.

Went on the Brighton photowalk yesterday. Around 40 of us. The group leader was excellent and everything was very well organised. As well as seeing Brighton differently I made some good contacts.

Got the gear but still not mastered the duck shot.

I was supposed to go on the Brighton walk, but I woke up on Saturday morning feeling totally crap. Didn't think it was a good idea to expose loads of people to whatever bugs were taking up residence in my body, I stayed at home. Still feeling unwell, but it ain't the dreaded pig flu.

Glad you all had a great time. I'll make it next year.

This was my second year doing the walk. Had about as much fun this go round as last year's. Nothing special but I guess it's cool to be a part of something big like this.

I registered and planned to go to Pittsburgh's walk-about. Alas, the to-do list at home was getting too long to get a pass, so I power washed the house instead.

Well, I would have loved to go. Last year, our walk was cancelled due to the leader being unable to do it. I emailed and said I would lead it but they said I was too late. I particularly asked to be included on the mailing list for this year, but no, I heard about it on a forum and when I went to the site, no local walk, too late to register to start one.

So I have emailed them again and asked to be included for next year but I am not holding my breath. I have made a reminder in my online calendar so hopefully I might get to go on one next year!

I'd never heard of the event before this thread and it does not sound very well organised!

I went last year, and planned to go this year, but at the last minute went to Scott Hargis's lighting seminar in MD. Last years was extremely well run in Cincinnati -- but I can see how it would be a mixed bag.

Sorry you got bum rushed.

Went to the one in Palm Beach, FL. A lot of people showed up. Leader was on time and had maps with interesting locations marked. Everyone went off in small groups and ended at the bar 2 hours later. A good time was had by all I talked to. Gave me a chance to try out a new 70-200 lens. Yes, it was hot but it made the after-walk cold beer that much better.

Missed it, had no idea it existed! Will be there next year.
