They are not supported but sometimes they confuse the camera and it writes an incorrect notation in the Exif that causes DPP to open the Lens Correction panel. My Sigma 15-30 does that too.
They don't confuse the camera (well perhaps, but not in the way you think they do
. In the lens <-> communication protocol there seems to be an identifier that says which lens it is. Non Canon lenses reuse identifiers from corresponding (??) Canon lenses, thereby lying to the camera. And, apparently, DPP uses this identifier to determine if it has correction data for this lens or not.
So, if DPP thinks it has correction data for a certain a non Canon lens, then it will use correction data from some Canon lens A to correct data from non Canon lens B. As the needed corrections for lens B most likely ARE different from lens A, you will actually worsen your pictures.
