The image below was taken with the dish about 8 foot away from the wall. The setup is an elinchrom ranger quadra in a 22" beauty dish using a ~30* grid.
Is the visible honeycomb pattern on the edges of the light falloff typical or is it just my setup?

In real use I'm usually using the gridded dish close to the model for headshots and normally I don't notice any patterns on the background. This next shot is straight out of the camera with my daughter was about 7-8 feet from the wall... I can *just* make out a hint of the honeycomb pattern in the vignette.
