I have found that it's actually more difficult to catch a good muzzle blast shot at faster shutter speeds. The lower speeds make for bigger fireballs that appear to be round. The faster shutter speeds make for a more defined blast but they are more rare to capture.

Also, Blind luck never hurts.

I was focused on the shell casing shots.
