RUDI - Thanks!!! :-)

conserv - Yeah, I already changed the setting so it moves at 1/2 stop for each button press. I know that at 1/10th, it is hard to remember how many button press you did and so forth - so I kept looking at my readings to make sure I wasn't shooting at full power the whole day.

fivegallon - I actually got the impact empty weights from B&H (they were like $18 each) Double zipper on each sides and quite easy to pack. When I got there, just filled them with medium/flat rocks...... it worked great the whole day!! Had two of them to anchor a stand and portalux softbox.

Didn't know they were available, great idea. And i guess the more thrifty could just take some old empty cushion covers...

I'm a little late to the party but wanted to add my pat on the back: Great series Roan.

I also wanted to mention that power increments can be adjusted in the non-Quadra RX world IF you're using the USB dongle and EL Skyport software:

Not very helpful in the field but much appreciated at home base.

Again, love the flying ballerinas.

Hi Dave!

It would be great if that adjustment could be made to the RX reciver and not the just for the USB dongle. Hopefully Elinchrom will take skyport a step further in the next incarnation. Something like Profotos air would be awesome.

Kindest

Paul L.

Thanks Dave!! I'm pretty sure that the new version of the big Rangers will have a skyport built in....... and maybe a new transmitter!! That would be awesome!! Maybe just in time for Photokina (?)

Sadly, photokina is only every 2 years...so that'd mean 2010.

Paul - Agreed. Luap needs to hire a good designer to do an overhaul of his products......maybe somebody from Apple, make everything look sexy and drool worthy!!

Cathpah - didn't realize Photokina is every 2 years.......... So what is the next big show coming up? I know there is a big expo here in NYC sometime in October.......
