Only problem is it's DLP projection - that probably means over a relatively short time (a few years) you'll have large contrast and brightness shifts and will eventually have to replace the bulbs which likely will cost 1/2 to 2/3 of a brand new monitor.

But then again, if you can afford an $8000 monitor, Does it really matter? Just get a new one.

Not for me. It can't rotate for portrait mode. :D

I would have issues with it only being 900 pixels high.

I haven't on a scrween that low in years, my current on is 1440 high.
If it was 2800 x 1500 resolution then it might be useful

Photo work??? How about gaming! :D Pretty neat but I agree the height to width ratio is not good for most applications.

Are there any Graphics cards currently available that would support that resolution? (2880x900)

Matrox cards sometimes do, and most regular ati cards have a single screen option when the screen resolutions are equal (basically extended desktop with the start menu being everywhere rather than just the first screen, but requires dual input on the monitor).

If you really wanted a large display, you should have gotten the lambda computing screens from half a decade ago (external link). Their largest product was over 12800x1200 and about 192" across (8 1600x1200 screens put together). Too bad they never really made anything and everything was a scam though ;)

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I like my 30" HP just fine.

My village called. I was told that they missed me.
